Ashley named University’s first-ever Gates Scholar
Illinois State University student Dyrell Ashley has been named a Gates Millennium Scholar through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Ashley, a freshman from Chicago, is the first Gates Scholar from the University.

Peace prize nominations sought
The Peace and Conflict Resolution Studies Program at Illinois State University is accepting nominations and self-nominations for the Grabill-Homan Community Peace Prize.

Music for the Holidays Concerts Dec. 6, 7
Illinois State University’s annual Music for the Holidays concerts will be held at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 6, and at 3 p.m. Dec. 7, in the University’s Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall. Tickets are $15 for general admission, $12 for faculty/staff and $10 for students and seniors.

‘Tis the Season at Planetarium Starts Dec. 5
The Illinois State University Planetarium will present the holiday show ‘Tis the Season, running weekends from Friday, Dec. 5, through Saturday, Dec. 20. Show times are Friday evenings at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 2 p.m.

Author of The Other Wes Moore to headline Martin Luther King Jr. Dinner
Author, combat veteran, Rhodes Scholar and PBS show host Wes Moore will present The Other Wes Moore for the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Dinner at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, in the Brown Ballroom of the Bone Student Center. Reservations are required.
