Illinois State University’s Milner Library recently named Tom Peters as the assistant dean for strategic technology initiatives.
Peters will coordinate the integration of technology into the operations of Milner Library and oversee its institutional repository, an online resource that provides access to scholarly research produced by Illinois State faculty, staff and students. He will also serve as a liaison to other University technology groups.
Peters is the founder and CEO of Tap Information Services, which provides technology-related services to libraries, government agencies, publishers and information technology companies. He has also served as director of the University of Illinois-based Center for Library Initiatives and as the dean of university libraries at Western Illinois University. Peters holds a master’s degree in English from the University of Missouri and a master's degree in library and information science from the University of Iowa.
The next issue of Report will come out on Aug. 2. Deadline for submissions is July 29.
