American Students Encounter Race in Southern Brazil: Reflections from a Summer Study Abroad Experience will be the topic of a presentation by Gina Louise Hunter and Eros DeSouza on Wednesday, Feb. 1, from noon to 1 p.m. in the first floor west lounge of the Bone Student Center. The event is free and open to the public.
Hunter is an associate professor in Illinois State University’s Department of Sociology and Anthropology. She is a cultural anthropologist with a research emphasis on Brazil. DeSouza is a professor in Illinois State’s Department of Psychology. His research examines workplace prejudice and discrimination based on gender, race-ethnicity, sexual orientation and disability through a multicultural and cross-cultural perspective.
The presentation by Hunter and DeSouza is part of Illinois State University’s International Studies Seminar Series exploring topics in global politics and culture. The seminar series is organized by the Unit for International Linkages, Office of International Studies and Programs and the Women's and Gender Studies Program.
