Illinois State University will recognize five Administrative/Professional (A/P) and Civil Service staff members with the Distinguished Service Award on Thursday, Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. at the Founders Day Convocation.
The recipients include Valerie Bridson, Clinical Experiences; Ron Gifford, History; Judy Keenan, Graduate School; Lisa Lee, Child Care Center; and Rick Lewis, Dean of Students Office.
The University Distinguished Service Award acknowledges outstanding contributions by A/P and Civil Service staff to the work of the University. The award is intended to encourage professional development and improve morale by honoring sustained contributions made by selected individuals and is the highest non-faculty award given by the University.
Lindsay Vahl, Admissions, was named the A/P Emerging Leader Award recipient. The Emerging Leader Award recognizes a new A/P staff member whose professional performance has shown tremendous promise for and commitment to the University community. The award’s criteria are based on significant contributions to the campus community and university goals as set forth by Educating Illinois.
Narry Kim, Presidential and Trustee Events, is recipient of the Civil Service Council Esprit de Corps Award. The Esprit de Corps Award recognizes a staff member who is deserving of special recognition for their work on behalf of the Civil Service Council membership and the University. The individuals do not currently hold elected Council office, but are willing to spend their time and effort doing something for the good of the membership.
