The Illinois Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Illinois State University will present the Hiring Your First Employee seminar on Tuesday, April 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the State Farm Hall of Business, room 430. The seminar fee is $10 and advance registration is required. Call 438-3610 or register online.
The seminar is intended for those already in business and looking to expand by hiring personnel. It covers a variety of topics including basics for hiring, forms to file, legal considerations, payroll, finding applicants, interviewing strategies, and selection.
The program was developed through a partnership between the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and the Illinois SBDC at Illinois State as a service to Illinois small businesses. The funding is not an endorsement of any products, opinions or services. All funded programs are extended to the public on a non-discriminatory basis.
