The Safe Zone orientation session sponsored by Diversity Advocacy is on Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 10 a.m. to noon in 375 Student Services Building. Safe Zone provides faculty, staff and students the opportunity to participate in an orientation dedicated to educating participants on current issues and creating safe spaces on campus that are highly visible and easily identifiable to GLBT persons. The PBS documentary viewing and discussion of “Middle Class and Newly Homeless” is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 6 p.m. in the Old Main Room of the Bone Student Center. Attend the session and engage in a discussion about the recession and how it continues to bear down on working Americans; some are being forced into a situation that once seemed unthinkable–homelessness. The discussion will be facilitated by School of Social Work Assistant Professor Cynthia Edmonds-Cady.
