Illinois State University’s Mennonite College of Nursing will host a Pink Reception to celebrate community cancer survivors at the annual Redbird Women’s Basketball PINK Game on Sunday, Feb. 12, in the Legends Room of the Redbird Arena.
The reception is open to all those with tickets for the game that will pit Illinois State against the women of Bradley University. Tickets for the game are only $1, and can be purchased prior to the game by contacting the ticket office at (309) 438-8000, or at the door the day of the game. There will also be some concession items that will also be $1 each.
The reception is from 1 to 2 p.m., with the game beginning at 2:05 p.m. Those planning to attend the reception must R.S.V.P. to Mennonite Associate Director of Public Relations Amy Irving at (309) 438-7418 or amirvin@ilstu.edu by Wednesday, Feb. 8.
The PINK game is part of the national effort Play 4Kay – an initiative brought to life in 2007 in honor of women’s basketball coach Kay Yow, which raises awareness and funds for cancer research.
All those attending are encouraged to wear pink in support of survivors. PINK Game T-shirts will be available for $20 at the game, with proceeds benefitting the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
For additional information or special accommodations, contact Irving at (309) 438-7418.
