Actor and author Hill Harper will be the featured speaker at the Illinois State University Black History Month Cultural Dinner on Sunday, Feb. 26, at 5 p.m. in the Bone Student Center Brown Ballroom. Harper will discuss his new book, The Wealth Cure: Putting Money in Its Place, and his work on the popular TV series CSI: New York.
Tickets for the dinner will be on sale Feb. 13 to 19 at the three Illinois State Campus Dining Centers and must be purchased in advance. Cost is $16.75 plus tax for community members; $13.50 for students, faculty and staff without a University meal plan; or one meal swipe for University meal plan participants.
Harper has won legions of admirers for his portrayal of Dr. Sheldon Hawkes on the hit drama series CSI: New York. He is the author of the bestselling books Letters to a Young Brother and Letters to a Young Sister. Harper works to enable positive social change as a spokesman and volunteer for Big Brothers, Big Sisters. His new book, The Wealth Cure: Putting Money in Its Place, addresses ways in which people can use wealth building as a tool for joy and fulfillment,
