Illinois State Covers MAP Reduction

Illinois State University will cover a 5 percent reduction in Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) Monetary Awards Program (MAP). 

In approving the 2010-11 MAP awards, ISAC indicated there was a 45 percent increase in applications, which might result in MAP award reductions.  ISAC has announced that all spring 2011 MAP awards will be reduced 5 percent to ensure that the MAP funds would not be overspent.

Illinois State MAP Grant recipients will not be liable for this reduction as the University will spend about $420,000 to cover the state's reduction.  However, students logging on to iCampus will view the reduction and an Illinois State addition of their MAP award.
