Date: 3/10/11

Contact: Kathy Beal

Close to 180 Illinois State University graduate students will participate in the annual Graduate Research Symposium from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday, March 25, in the Bone Student Center Brown Ballroom. The University-wide showcase of research, scholarship and creative endeavor is free and open to the public.

The Languages, Literatures and Cultures department will host oral presentations for several of their students at 4 p.m. in 202 Stevenson Hall in conjunction with the Research Symposium.

The Symposium encourages cross-disciplinary associations and focuses on communicating research to the general public.  Faculty members, staff, visitors and peers will provide oral and written feedback to student participants.

For a complete listing of abstracts for the topics to be presented at the Symposium, click on http://www.grad.ilstu.edu/symposium/ and select 2011 Abstracts.  A pdf file will open with all of the participants and their topics.

The Graduate Research Symposium, sponsored by the Graduate School, Research and  Sponsored Programs and the Honors Program, started 20 years ago to promote graduate student research.
