High School Research Symposium April 15

The 10th Annual Illinois State University High School Research Symposium, sponsored by the Illinois State University Center for Mathematics, Science, and Technology (CeMaST) will take place from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 15, in the Bone Student Center Circus Room and Old Main Room.

Over 200 Illinois high school students have registered to participate. They will have the opportunity to showcase their original research projects in science, mathematics, engineering, or technology and share with an audience of their peers along with Illinois State professors and students. Participants will also be able to explore the Illinois State Undergraduate Research Symposium held the same day, take campus tours and visit various research laboratories. Prizes will also be awarded and include scholarships to the Illinois Summer Research Academy.

James McLurkin, robotics engineer and assistant professor of computer science at Rice University, will present at 12:20 p.m in the Bone Student Center Old Main Room.
