Military Culture in 1930s Germany, Turkey Seminar Sept. 16

"Fear and Loathing in Berlin and Ankara: Military Culture in Germany and Turkey in the 1930s" will be the topic of a presentation by Emre Sencer on Wednesday, Sept. 16 from 12-1 p.m. in the Bone Student Center 3rd Floor East Lounge.  The event is free and open to the public.

Sencer is an assistant professor of history at Knox College in Galesburg.  His teaching and research focuses on 19th and 20th century German history, world history, modern European history, intellectual history, the modern Middle East, comparative history, and the military history of the Ottoman Empire and modern Turkey.

His presentation is part of Illinois State University's International Studies Seminar Series exploring topics in global politics and culture. The seminar series is organized by the Unit for International Linkages, Office of International Studies and Programs, and the Women's and Gender Studies Program.
