Jazz Ensembles Concert Sept. 23

Illinois State University's Jazz Ensembles will present their first concert of the school year at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, in the Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall.  The Sept. 23 Jazz Ensembles concert starts at 8pm in CPA concert hall.

Admission is $6 for the general public, $5 for ISU faculty-staff and $4 for students and senior citizens.  Tickets are available at the CPA box office weekdays or by phone at (309) 438-2535.

Under the direction of Tom Marko, Jazz Ensemble I and Jazz Ensemble II will perform a wide range of styles represented from the big band genre including Latin jazz, ballads, contemporary swing and classics.  Among composers on the program are Bob Mintzer, Alan Baylock, Wayne Shorter, Sammy Nestico, Matt Harris, Oliver Nelson, Duke Ellington and more.
