After a three-month exhibition of painter Harold Gregor's work at the Illinois State University Galleries, the exhibit, "Radiant Plains," will close Saturday, but will mark the successful run on Thursday, Sept. 10, with a birthday celebration for the man himself.
Gregor turns 80 on Thursday, and family, friends and fans will gather to mark the day from 5 to 7 p.m. in the galleries. Admission is free.
"Radiant Plains" is a selection of Gregor paintings and watercolors from 2000 to 2009, which reveal a bold, experimental shift in his work.
