Cultural displays, thought-provoking films, music, and a soccer tournament will all be part of Illinois State University's International Week 2009, Oct. 16 - 23. Events during the week are sponsored by the International House (I-House) program. All events listed are free and open to the public.
International Week begins with the grand opening of the Marilyn M. Boyd International House facility on Friday, Oct. 16, from 4-6 p.m. The ceremony will begin in the Vrooman Center's Escalante Room and continue with a reception and open house in the I-House office, located in 102 Manchester Hall.
Teams comprised of international and American students will compete in the First Annual Manchester Cup Soccer Tournament on Sunday, Oct. 18, at 2 p.m. at the Kingsley Junior High School soccer field.
The Marilyn M. Boyd International House office (102 Manchester Hall) will be the location of cultural displays, film screenings and musical entertainment throughout the week.
The culmination of International Week will be the Cultural Gala on Friday, Oct. 23, at 6:30 p.m. in the Bone Student Center Brown Ballroom. The event, sponsored by United International Association in conjunction with many student organizations, will feature music and entertainment by various international student organizations.
