Eight student playwrights in Illinois State University's School of Theatre will see their works come to life Nov. 11 and 12 at the fifth annual Playwrights' Workshop in room 202 of the Centennial West building. Admission each night beginning at 7 p.m. is free and open to the public.
"From Page to Stage: A Festival of Original, Student-Written 10-Minute Plays," featuring works by students in the Theatre/English playwriting class, will present eight 10-minute plays each night. Eight directors have taken on each play. The plays are diverse in terms of tone and subject matter, with topics covering romance, marriage, violence, the impact of popular culture, war, communication, betrayal, revenge, and broken dreams.

The 10-minute plays are "The Familiar Stranger" by Sean Kelly and directed by Henry Woronicz, "Waitin' for my Man" by Kevin M. Schaefer and directed by Jack McLaughlin-Gray, "Eviction" by Melissa Wilson and directed by Michael Vetere, "The Session" by Michelle Witter and directed by Kate Cook, "It's Complicated" by L. Hawkins and directed by Jon Ferreira, "A Dinner Party" by Rachel Stanford and directed by Jack Carpenter, "Death of a Scene" by Ryan Killeen and directed by Emily Gill and "Caged Human" by Zachary Austin and directed by Jack McLaughlin-Gray.
