Illinois State University Names Philanthropy Award Winners

"Gladly We Give" is an ongoing annual fund drive designed specifically for the faculty, staff and retirees of Illinois State University. On November 12, outstanding program members and divisions were presented with the following awards at the 'Gladly We Give' FY09 Donor Appreciation Reception, held in the Illinois State University Alumni Center.

Dave Bentlin, administrative assistant, and Danielle Miller-Schuster, assistant to the vice president, both from the Division of Student Affairs, were selected from 33 ambassadors and honored with the 2009 Ambassador of the Year Award.   In honor of their financial support, encouragement, volunteerism and leadership, Jan Neuleib, Professor of English, and Mark Wyman, Distinguished Professor Emeritus of History, were presented with the Philanthropists of the Year awards.

Awards based on department achievement were also presented.  The School of Biological Sciences was named 2009 Philanthropy Department of the Year; the Student Affairs Division was recognized for most significant percentage of growth in the number of faculty/staff donors; and Athletics achieved highest overall percentage of participation from faculty/staff.
