Illinois State University's Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) will hold its Spring 2010 commissioning ceremony at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 7, in the University's Center for the Performing Arts.
Illinois State cadets being commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army are Chelsie Black, Junction City, Kansas; Arik Bruens, Hoopeston; Carrie Dunn, Aledo; Andrew Nagel, Glen Ellyn; Gabriel Trulson, Gilson; and James Wesley, Springfield.
Brigadier General (ret) Jack H. Kotter will be the featured speaker during the ceremony. Kotter was recently appointed to his fourth term as United States Army Reserve Ambassador to Illinois. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Corps of Engineers in 1963 and is now retired with more than 36 years of active duty and reserve military service. In addition to his military assignments, Kotter has 30 years of management experience with AT&T.
