High school students only have a few days left to sign up to participate in research with Illinois State University professors this summer. The Center for Mathematics, Science and Technology (CeMaST) at Illinois State is hosting the 2010 Illinois Summer Research Academy (ISRA) July 12-16 and the application deadline is June 1.
The five-day event offers current high school students the opportunity to stay on campus and participate in special hands-on biology, geography or geology research projects during the day and fun social activities in the evening.
To apply, high school students currently enrolled as freshmen, sophomores, or juniors must submit an online application at http://cemast.illinoisstate.edu/projects/isra, along with having a teacher submit a letter of reference.
The cost is $450, which includes on-campus housing, meals, and evening social activities. A reduced rate is available for local students that do not require on-campus housing and a full meal plan. Scholarships are also available.
For more information, contact CeMaST Assistant Director for Outreach Amy Bloom at ambloom@ilstu.edu or (309) 438-8115.
