ISU Board of Trustees Approves Tuition, Fees, Room and Board Rates

Illinois State University's Board of Trustees today approved a combined 6.09 percent tuition, fees, room and board rate increase for the 2010-11 academic year. 

New undergraduate full-time students from Illinois will pay $301 per credit hour in tuition for the 2010-11 academic year, a $25 increase per credit hour from last year.  The new students will continue to pay this rate through summer of 2014.

New out-of-state full-time undergraduate students will pay $510 per credit hour for the 2010-11 academic year, a $42 increase per credit hour from the 2009-10 academic year.

Illinois State University fees are included in the four-year guarantee, assuring students and parents that fee rates will not change from year to year.  The fees, excluding health insurance, for the 2010-11 academic year for full-time new students will be $68.23, an increase of $3.93 per credit hour from last year.  

Residence hall rates depend on which area of campus students live in and in what type of room (multiple occupancy, single or super single), with rates increasing by 3.2 percent from the 2009-10 academic year.

Students living in South Campus and Watterson Towers will pay $4,326 for a multiple occupancy room, $5,840 for a multiple occupancy room in a suite, $5,754 for a single, $6,618 for a super single, $6,706 for a single in a suite and $7,398 for a super single in a suite.  Students living in East and West campuses will pay $4,726 for a multiple occupancy room, $6,240 for a multiple occupancy room in a suite, $6,154 for a single, $7,018 for a super single, $7,106 for a single in a suite and $7,798 for a super single in a suite.

Meal plan rates are divided into residential plans, off-campus plans and door rates, with rates increasing by 3 percent.  A residential plan that includes seven days of unlimited meals will cost $4,110.  An off-campus plan that includes seven meals per week will cost $1,966, and door rates are $5.65 for breakfast, $7.95 for lunch and $9.30 for dinner.
