Close to 170 Illinois State University graduate students will participate in the 19th Graduate Research Symposium on Friday, March 26, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Bone Student Center Brown Ballroom. The University-wide showcase of research, scholarship and creative endeavor is free and open to the public.
Three departments have opted to host oral presentations at various campus locations in conjunction with the Research Symposium. Sociology and Anthropology will hold its event from 10 to 11 a.m. in 207 Schroeder Hall; English from 9 to 11 a.m. in 132 Stevenson Hall; and Languages, Literatures, and Cultures from 3 to 4 p.m. in 330 Williams Hall.
The Symposium encourages cross-disciplinary associations and focuses on communicating research to the general public. Faculty members, visitors and peers will provide oral and written feedback to student participants.

The Symposium, sponsored by the Graduate School, Research and Sponsored Programs, and the Honors Program, started 19 years ago to promote graduate student research.
