Illinois State University's Documentary Project will host its fourth annual socio-political film festival on Tuesday, April 6, at 7 p.m. in Schroeder Hall room 138. The event is free and open to the public.
The festival gives students an opportunity to present films they have created that highlight socio-political issues. The project is dedicated to the promotion and support of opportunities for students to produce and study documentaries. The festival will include three Film Your Issue entries and the full length documentary Pontiac's Rebellion, directed by School of Communication graduate student Brian Seay. Pontiac's Rebellion highlights the political battle between the residents of the town of Pontiac, Ill. and former Governor Rod Blagojevich to keep Pontiac prison open.
Filmmakers will be present at the event to answer questions about issues examined in the films. For more information visit www.communication.illinoisstate.edu/comweek/
