Milner Library's Edible Book Festival April 1

Date: 3/16/2010

Contact: Marc Lebovitz

Society has not invented an event that cannot be improved by the addition of food. Celebrating books is no exception.

On Thursday, April 1, Milner Library will celebrate its fifth annual observance of the Edible Book Festival from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.. The International Edible Book Festival, which began in 1999, is celebrated in more than 18 countries worldwide. Members of the University and Bloomington-Normal communities are encouraged to put their creativity to the test and enter their own food "books."

All "books" must be made of edible ingredients, with a list of those ingredients accompanying the entry. Entries should be dropped off at Milner Library between 8 and 11 a.m. on April 1. Judging begins at 11 and the winner announced at 1 p.m.

Information is available from Ross Griffiths at rmgriff@ilstu.edu (309) 438-7463. Examples of past entrants can be viewed by clicking on library.
