Illinois State University Vice President of Finance and Planning Dan Layzell has announced that Khristina Clevenger will be the new assistant vice president of Human Resources. She will assume her position on Monday, April 12.
"Not only does Khristina Clevenger have a breadth of human resources experience, both in business and education, she is an Illinois State University alumna who is familiar with the campus," Layzell said. "She will be an asset to the University and an experienced leader for Human Resources."
Clevenger will lead a Human Resource team of close to 30 staff members in the development, implementation and administration of comprehensive human resource programs and policies for the University and a staff of nearly 3,500. She will work with state and federal agencies to provide leadership and compliance, work closely with Academic Affairs and serve as the primary contact for deans, directors, chairs and department heads regarding human resource issues. Clevenger will also work with the State University Civil Service System, State of Illinois' Central Management Services and State University Retirement System to serve applicants, staff, faculty and annuitants of Illinois State.
Clevenger is currently the operations director of Human Resources at Illinois Central College. She was director of Human Resources at Kathryn Beich, Inc., human resource manager and labor relations supervisor at Nestle USA, Inc. and personnel manager at Ball Glass Container Corp. Clevenger earned her bachelor's degree in management in 1995 from Illinois State University.
