Illinois State University's Board of Trustees today approved a capital project to repair the exterior of the East Campus Residence Hall Complex.
The $1.5 million project will include the design and construction of exterior joint and precast panel repairs to address moisture infiltration, which was discovered during the East Campus Renovation project that is due to end by fall semester. Water infiltration around the windows was part of that project, but infiltration between the precast panels, not near the windows, was more extensive than believed during the design stage.
Specialists will work on the project, which will be done primarily from the exterior of Hewett and Manchester halls. The project will likely begin in the summer of 2010, with work scheduled during the summer months to continue over several years.
The project will be funded through University Housing bond revenue reserves.
