Illinois State University has been recognized as a Center of Actuarial Excellence in the new system of accreditation implemented by the Society of Actuaries. Illinois State is the only Center of Actuarial Excellence in Illinois.
There are nine Centers in the United States recognized by the Society of Actuaries and three in Canada. Each university recognized as a Center of Actuarial Excellence must meet specific requirements related to degree, curriculum, graduate count, faculty composition, graduate quality, appropriate integration, connection to industry and research/scholarship.
"We are very proud to be included among these few elite actuarial programs," said Actuarial Program Director Krzysztof Ostaszewski.
