"A People's Story Written in Stitches: Embroidering Identity in Palestine" will be the topic of a presentation by Iman Saca on Wednesday, Feb. 17, from 12-1 p.m. in the Bone Student Center Third Floor East Lounge. The event is free and open to the public.
Saca is an associate professor of anthropology and director of the Middle Eastern Studies Program at Saint Xavier University. She teaches a wide variety of courses in anthropology, as well as courses on the archaeology, culture and society of the Middle East. She is currently working with governmental and non-governmental institutions to protect archaeological heritage sites in the West Bank and Gaza.
Her presentation is part of Illinois State University's International Studies Seminar Series exploring topics in global politics and culture. The seminar series is organized by the Unit for International Linkages, Office of International Studies and Programs, and the Women's and Gender Studies Program.
