An opportunity to hear music stars of tomorrow will be offered at a free winter solo recital by students in the Illinois State University String Project at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, in room 305-308 in Cook Hall. The friends, families and the general public are welcome to attend
Established in 2001 by the School of Music and the American String Teachers Association, the ISU String Project is a community music program for children studying stringed instruments. The program offers low-cost instruction on violin, viola, cello and bass to students from 3rd through 8th grades. It is an effort to reach students who have no access to a public school string program.
String Project is led by faculty members from the School of Music in collaboration with music education majors. School of Music Assistant Professor Adriana Ransom is the director of the String Project.
