The fourth annual Viola Day - featuring guest artists and clinicians and concluding with a large recital - will begin at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, April 11, at Illinois State University. Admission is free and open to the public.
Sponsored by the Viola Studio in the School of Music, Viola Day will include guest violist Peter Slowik, a professor of viola at Oberlin College. He will be joined by ISU violist Katherine Lewis and guest string artists Sharon Chung, Bill Kronenberg, Carolyn McCall and others to present interactive viola classes and workshops.
All the events will take place in Cook Hall or Kemp Recital Hall. The 4 p.m. final recital will be in Kemp and will include Slowik, Lewis, Western Illinois faculty member Istvan Szabo, the All-State High School Viola Ensemble and more.
