Illinois State University President Al Bowman has named Erin Minné as the new vice president for University Advancement, effective June 1. Minné will replace Dianne Ashby, who retires May 1, after serving as the division's leader for five years.
"Erin brings with her a wealth of talent and experience, and I know she will provide outstanding leadership for University Advancement," Bowman said. "I also want to thank search Chair T.Y. Wang and the entire search committee for their efforts in selecting such excellent finalists from a large group of talented candidates."
Minné received her bachelor's degree from Oakland University in Michigan and her master's degree from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. She has served as vice president for Development for the University of Iowa Foundation since 2007. Prior to that, she held other foundation and development positions for the University of Iowa Foundation, Michigan Technological University, Boysville of Michigan, American Cancer Society and Orchards Children's Services.
Minné currently leads a team of 31 development officers and associates in fundraising efforts for Health Sciences Development, including four colleges and UI hospitals and clinics. She is currently managing a $500 million campaign for the academic medical center and provides oversight for campaigns for the colleges of Public Health and Dentistry.
The Division of University Advancement enhances the image of Illinois State by cultivating relationships among constituents and raising private funds to support University priorities. Minné will serve as the executive director of the Illinois State University Foundation as well as oversee Alumni Relations, Annual Giving, Development, Donor and Information Services, University Marketing and Communications, and Foundation properties in Normal, Bloomington and Chicago.
Bill Fanning, director of Foundation Business Affairs, will oversee the division during May.
