The 9th Annual Illinois State University High School Research Symposium, sponsored by the Illinois State University Center for Mathematics, Science, and Technology (CeMaST) will take place from 8:15 a.m.-2 p.m. on Friday, April 16, in the Bone Student Center Circus Room.
For nearly a decade, Illinois high school students have had the opportunity to showcase their research projects in science, mathematics, engineering, or technology at an annual symposium. This poster presentation gives high school students the opportunity to share original research with an audience of their peers along with Illinois State professors and students. Participants will also be able to explore the Illinois State Undergraduate Research Symposium, held the same day in the Bone Student Center Brown Ballroom, take campus tours and visit various research laboratories, the Greenhouse and the Department of Geography-Geology Learning Resource Center. Plaques and prizes will be awarded to top winners. Top prizes include scholarships to the 2010 Illinois Summer Research Academy held at Illinois State.
The event is open to the public and Illinois State faculty, staff, and students. For more information about the symposium please refer to http://cemast.illinoisstate.edu/, or contact Amy Bloom, CeMaST assistant director for outreach at ambloom@ilstu.edu or 309-438-3089.
