Chamber Orchestra Concert to Feature Graduate Student Conductors

Graduate music students studying conducting with Professor Glenn Block in Illinois State University's School of Music will be put to the test in a Chamber Orchestra concert at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, in the Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall.

Admission is $6 for the general public, $5 for faculty-staff and $4 for students and senior citizens.

Rebecca Carter will conduct Mendelssohn's Overture to "Ruy Blas." Motoaki Kashino and John Garvens will share conducting of Mozart's Symphony No. 40.  Block will close the concert by conducting the orchestra and pianist Carlyn Morenus of the School of Music faculty in performing Ernest Block's  Concerto Grosso for Strings and Orchestra.
