Nineteen Illinois State University students have been honored with actuarial science scholarships for the Fall 2008 semester.
David Prevo, senior, Gridley, was named the winner of the Country Scholar in Actuarial Science award.
Students named State Farm Scholars in Actuarial Science are Sarah Bryant, junior, Litchfield; Emily Byrnes, junior, Mount Horeb, Wisconsin; Nikita Garman, sophomore, Tremont, Thomas Lauren, senior, Mundelein; Christine Pflueger, junior, Red Bud; Jason Rohlfs, sophomore, Emden; Andrew Stuepfert, freshman, Normal; Nicholas Syring, senior, Shorewood; Wojciech Wencel, sophomore, Chicago; Brandon Wolfe, sophomore, Orangeville.
Anthony Pragovich, junior, Homer Glen, was named the Zurich Scholar in Actuarial Science.
Allstate Insurance Minority Scholarships were awarded to Gloria Mascote, freshman, Streator, and Dulce Torres, freshman, Stone Park.
D.W. Simpson Scholarship winners were David Prevo, senior, Gridley, Nicholas Syring, senior, Shorewood, with honorable mention going to Andrew Lewis, senior, Effingham, and Xiyuan Zhang, senior, Jacksonville, Florida
The Orlyn Edge Scholarship in Actuarial Science was awarded to Patrick Henrichs, freshman, Breese.
The State Farm Scholar in Actuarial Science Awards, funded by the State Farm Foundation, and the Country Financial Scholar in Actuarial Science awards, are for students with a grade point average of 3.5 overall and 3.7 in the major and who place in the top 20 percent overall and top 5 percent in mathematics in national standardized tests.
