Impact of Methhamphetamine Subject of Presentation, Oct. 16

"The Mysteries of Methamphetamine" will be the subject of a presentation by Illinois State University criminal justice sciences professor Ralph Weisheit on Thursday, Oct. 16 at 5 p.m. at NV Ultra Lounge, 107 E. Beaufort St, Normal. 

Weisheit's presentation, sponsored by Illinois State's College of Applied Science and Technology (CAST), is free and open to the public. The CAST in Focus event, which showcases research and faculty expertise in the College, will begin at 4 p.m. with complimentary hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.

Weisheit's presentation will address methamphetamines, how they impact the Midwest, the general trends regarding use and production of the drug and how communities are responding to the problem.  Weisheit's research focuses on rural crime and methamphetamine production and abuse in rural areas.
