A number of recitals by students in the School of Music are scheduled this weekend, beginning with a free concert by members of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, in Kemp Recital Hall. Phi Mu Alpha is a fraternity that exists for the development of the best and truest fraternal spirit; the mutual welfare and brotherhood of musical students; the advancement of music in America and a loyalty to the Illinois State University.
Saturday's schedule includes four student recitals.
Soprano Anna McWilliams, a senior music education major from Homestead, Iowa, will present a voice recital at 2:30 p.m. in Kemp Recital Hall. She is a student of Michelle Vought. Lisa Montgomery of Ottawa is also a senior music major and she will present a recital in Kemp at 5 p.m. Montgomery is a mezzo-soprano who studies with John Koch.
Graduate student Jeff Rolando of Normal will present a guitar recital at 6 p.m. in Kemp. He studies with Angelo Favis. Clarinetist Andrea Steele, a student of David Gresham, will present a recital at 7:30 p.m. in Kemp. She is a graduate student from Hudson.
One student recital will take place at 8 p.m. Monday in Kemp. Senior Ryan Grill of Tinley Park studies with Paul Nolen.
All the recitals are free and open to the public.
