Central Illinoisans not already in a Halloween state of mind can warm up by attending - in costume - a Halloween concert by the Illinois State University Symphony Orchestra at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, in the Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall. Admission is $4 to $6 and tickets are available at the CPA box office, (309) 438-2535.
Not only will orchestra members and Director of Orchestras Glenn Block be in costume, but the Center for the Performing Arts will be decorated as a dark cave.
The musical program will include "Trick or Treat" by Ferde Grofe', "Danse Macabre" by Saint-Saens, Mussorgsky's "Night on Bald Mountain" arranged by Rimsky-Korsakov, two movements from Berlioz's "Symphonie Fantastique" and two movements from Mahler's Symphony No. 1 "Titan."
