The student organization PRIDE (People Realizing Individuality and Diversity though Education) at Illinois State University has scheduled a rally at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, to show support for the movement for marriage and family rights for GLBT Americans. Participants will gather at the flagpole on the ISU quad at 7 p.m. and at 7:30 will march around the quad and possibly to other locations to be announced.
The rally is a response to the voters in California, Arizona and Florida who approve initiatives to ban gay marriages. In Arkansas, voters approved a ban on unmarried couples becoming adoptive or foster parents.
