Illinois State University's Board of Trustees today authorized FY2010 appropriations spending, an increase in pharmaceutical blanket purchase orders and a residence hall wireless access project.
The Board authorized the University to use funds from internal allocations until the Board approves the FY2010 operating budget at their July meeting.
The Trustees approved an increase to $1.25 million in FY2010 for pharmaceuticals. The University has a 10-year contract with HD Smith for pharmaceuticals at the Student Health Services pharmacy.
East and West Campus residence halls will have new wireless (WiFi) coverage starting this fall as the Board approved a $1.6 million project to add an 802.11n high-speed standard, which will offer higher-speed connectivity for newer systems, but will maintain compatibility with existing wireless devices. The project will also include 300 access points in Watterson Towers, which will be completed in 2010. The funds will come from bond revenue repair and replacement reserves.
