Illinois State University wants to help new students more easily recognize how to find resources, programs and services during their first year at the University. To facilitate that goal, a new identifier, pictured at the bottom of the page, is appearing on campus.
Offices and programs with marketing materials and Web sites targeting first-year students are encouraged to use the identifier. For more information about yearOne or to review the guidelines, visit the Web site at www.IllinoisState.edu/yearOne/, or contact co-chairs of the yearOne at Illinois State Committee Danille Miller-Schuster at (309) 438-5451 or at dnmille@ilstu.edu, or Danielle Lindsey at (309) 438-3175 or delinds@ilstu.edu.
"One of the goals of the yearOne committee is to provide a coordinated approach to the many programs and services offered to first-time freshman and transfer students at Illinois State," said Miller-Schuster and Lindsey. "We want first-year students to see the identifier and know the program or service is meant specifically for them."
The yearOne at Illinois State Committee was formed to examine, inform, facilitate, cultivate and enhance the first-year experience at Illinois State through strong partnerships between Academic and Student Affairs.
