Student Recital Schedule Fills Rest of March

Recitals by students in Illinois State University's School of Music fill the calendar through the rest of March.  All are free and open to the public and all but one are in Kemp Recital Hall.          

Violinist Andrew Francois and violist Kevin Lin will present a joint recital at 7 p.m. Friday, March 27, in Kemp Recital Hall.  Both are students of Katherine Lewis.  At 8:30 p.m., mezzo-soprano Krista Chmiel will sing in Kemp.  She is a student of John Koch.

Senior David Coon will begin Saturday's schedule in Kemp at 11 a.m. with a piano recital.  He studies with Tuyen Tonnu.  Senior Christine Schneider will present a clarinet recital at noon in Kemp.  She is a student of David Gresham.   Sophomore Josh Wagner will give a French horn recital at 1 p.m. in Kemp.  Wagner studies with Joe Neisler.

Another Neisler student, master's degree student Lindsay Schultz, will present her recital at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Normal.  At 2:30, senior Ricky Alegria will give a percussion recital in Kemp, followed at 4:30 by a senior recital by percussionist Matthew Boze.  Both study with David Collier.

Junior Matthew Harper, who studies with Katherine Lewis, will give a viola recital at 6 p.m. in Kemp and at 7:30, pianist Noppawan Tantikarn, a student of Gellert Modos, will present a recital in Kemp.  

At 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 30, senior Scott Lindstrom will present a trombone recital in Kemp.  He studies with Thomas Stark.  At 7:30, clarinetist Lauren Themanson will present a recital in Kemp.  She studies with David Gresham.  On Tuesday at 8 p.m., graduate student Andrew Gerbitz, a student of Amy Gilreath, will present a trumpet recital in Kemp.
