Close to 150 Illinois State University graduate students will participate in the annual University-wide showcase of research, scholarship and creative achievement, the Graduate Research Symposium, on Friday, March 27, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Bone Student Center Brown Ballroom. The Symposium is free and open to the public.
In a departure from previous symposia, some departments and schools have elected to organize oral presentations at various campus locations in conjunction with the Research Symposium. The Geography-Geology department will hold their presentation at noon in Felmley Science Annex 443; History from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Schroeder 207; Languages, Literatures and Cultures from 4-6 p.m. in Williams 307; English from 1-3 p.m. in Williams 27; and Special Education from 5-7 p.m. in the Bone Student Center Circus Room.
The Symposium encourages cross-disciplinary associations and focuses on communicating research to the general public. Faculty members, visitors and peers will provide oral and written feedback to student participants.

The Symposium, sponsored by the Graduate School, Research and Sponsored Programs, Honors Program and Milner Library, started 19 years ago to promote graduate student research.
