Through Feb. 15, the University Galleries at Illinois State University will present "unfiction," an exhibition including work that propels the narrative beyond page and picture toward uncertain divisions of reality and artifice. It will include photography, video and sculpture by Charlie White, Zoe Crosher, Joe Sola, Darren Bader, and others whose work erodes boundaries separating fact from fiction.
An opening reception will be held in the galleries at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20. Both the exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
University Galleries also will present recent video projections and mixed media installations by 1992 MFA graduate Xiaowen Chen beginning Jan. 20. The installations are poetical musings on transience, memory and desire.
University Galleries are open from noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays through Mondays, 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays.
