Olson To Leave Illinois State

Gary Olson, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, will leave Illinois State University in July to become provost at Idaho State University.  Olson, who began at Illinois State in 2004, will oversee Idaho State's seven colleges and its Museum of Natural History.

"I want to congratulate Gary on his new position and thank him for his service and many accomplishments at Illinois State," said Provost Sheri Everts.  "During the  week, I will meet with President Bowman, College of Arts and Sciences chairs and directors and our shared governance leaders to determine the appropriate next steps."

During his tenure, Olson established several faculty development programs, advisory boards and an initiative that raised $250,000 for awards to recognize college teaching and research.
