South Campus Area Coordinator Susan Dudolski is the recipient of the Neal R. Gamsky Quality of Student Life Award from the Illinois State University Division of Student Affairs. The recipient receives a recognition plaque, monetary award and their name added to a plaque on display in the Student Service Building.
Neal R. Gamsky was a vice president and dean of Student Affairs from 1973 to 1991. He created the Neal R. Gamsky Endowment Fund in 1986 to encourage professional staff to make outstanding contributions to the quality of life for Illinois State students and to promote excellence in individual effort and concern for the quality of campus environment through service and support.
Dudolski joined Illinois State in July 2001. In her current role she is responsible for overseeing every aspect of a 1,500 student residential area. Dudolski's responsibilities include the administration of a variety of services to students, program planning and implementation and crisis management. For the past four years, Dudolski has participated in the Alternative Spring Break program and for the past two years has served as a faculty/staff advisor for the program. Her involvement has included three trips to New Orleans to help the community rebuild after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.
In her nomination Dudolski was described as "a hardworking student advocate who does her very best to serve as a mentor and guide for students on our campus." Another nominator noted that Dudolski "exemplifies and embodies the true student affairs professional. She consistently works to put students first, and has had tremendous impact upon the students she has interacted with."
