Jessica Solberg of Normal is the 2008-2009 recipient of the John Baldini Scholarship at Illinois State University. Solberg, who is a social work major, will be honored at the annual McLean County Democratic Party Fundraiser on Sunday, Sept. 7, in the Bone Student Center Brown Ballroom.
The 4:45 p.m. dinner (preceded by a 4 p.m. social hour) will feature guest speaker State Senator Debbie Halvorson of Crete, who is running for the 11th District congressional seat.
Tickets to the dinner are $50 per person ($25 for students). Tickets can be reserved by calling 827-3934. Solberg has been invited to attend the dinner to be publicly recognized and presented with a certificate and the $2,000 scholarship.
The scholarship was established by the family, friends and both political parties to honor the late John Baldini for his leadership and years of service to the McLean County community.
