Janet Krejci will take the position of dean of Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State University, beginning August 1. Krejci is currently a Robert Wood Johnson Nurse Executive (RWJNE) Fellow.
Krejci served as associate dean for undergraduate programs at Marquette University College of Nursing (MUCN) from 2004 until 2007, when she accepted an American Council on Education (ACE) Leadership Fellowship. She was named a Robert Wood Johnson Nurse Executive (RWJNE) Fellow in 2008.
Krejci earned her Ph.D at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. Her research and teaching focuses on nursing leadership development, nurse retention, workforce diversity, and enhancement of acute and long term nursing care.
"Janet Krejci's experience in obtaining highly competitive national awards is a tribute to her exceptional energy, leadership, and scholarly abilities," said Illinois State University Provost Sheri Noren Everts. "These awards include her ACE Leadership Fellowship and a prestigious Roberts Wood Johnson Nurse Executive Fellowship. Her passion for nursing education and leadership development for nurses at all levels, as well as her commitment to diversity, position the college well in these important endeavors."
