Three ISU Students Receive Charles Bolen Award

Illinois State University's Kerry Conrad, Amelia Christine Gould and Molly Sharer are the recipients of the Charles W. Bolen Award.  The $1,000 award for each student honors the contributions of Bolen to the Senior Professionals of Illinois State. 

Bolen served as the dean of the College of Fine Arts for 18 years.  After retiring, he founded the Senior Professionals as a resource for the University and community, serving as the first director and chair of the Board of Directors.  His leadership inspired the mentoring program for Honors students and the giving of annual awards.

Conrad of Palatine is a junior mathematics teacher education major, Gould of Rapids City is a senior biological sciences major and Sharer of Normal is a senior kinesiology and recreation teacher education major.

Students are selected based on community and/or campus service, with activities that contribute to personal and professional development.
