For the past five Saturday mornings, local youngsters from
kindergarten through eighth grade have been enjoying visual arts classes in
the School of Art at Illinois State University. This Saturday, Oct. 21, the
final class will end with an exhibition of the children's work, open to
parents, family, friends and the general public.
Directed by Professor Linda Willis Fisher, the art classes teach students to creatively express their thoughts and ideas using a variety of art materials and processes. The youngsters also learn about art and artists from other countries and cultures.
Artwork created during the six-week period will be displayed from 10 to 10:50 a.m. in rooms and hallways in the basement level of the Center for the Visual Arts and in and outside rooms 124, 302 and 310W. There also will be a presentation for everyone in CVA 151 at 9 a.m.
