Geology Students Present at Annual Meeting

Illinois State University will be well-represented at the 118th annual meeting of the Geological Society of America. Ten students will present at the Philadelphia, Pa. meeting held on Oct. 22-25.
The following are the students and their presentations:

. Erin Roche, a junior from Gurnee, will present "The Effect of Beaver Dams on Phosphorus Cycling"
. Andrew Trzaskus, a senior from Minooka, will present "Magmatic Variability and Alteration History of the St. Francois Mountains, Missouri: Oxygen Isotope Ratios of Zircon and Quartz"
. Candice Marshall, a junior from Normal, will present "Geologic Map of the Danvers 7.5 Minute Quadrangle, McLean, Woodford and Tazewell Counties, Illinois"
. Kevin Hughes, a graduate student from Lovington, will present "Characterization of Cave Sediments from Berome Moore, Perry County, Missouri"
. Julie Angel, a graduate student from Champaign, Melinda Hilber, a graduate student from Normal, and Donald Kunkel, a graduate student from Park Forest, will present "Preliminary Delineation of the Hydrology of the Horn Hollow Karst System, Carter Caves State Resort Park, Northeastern, Kentucky"
. Anirban Basu, a graduate student from West Bengal, will present "Quantifying Nitrogen Cycling Between Surface Water and Groundwater in a Low Gradient Stream in an Agricultural Setting"
. Mark O'Daniel, a senior from Heyworth, will present "Geologic Map of Serena 7.5 Minute Quadrangle, LaSalle County Illinois"
. Evan Bowen, a graduate student from Bloomington, will present "Slack Water Terraces Remnants Along the Lower Spoon River in Fulton County, Illinois"
