BOT Approves Tuition, Fees and Room/Board Rates

Illinois State University s Board of Trustees today approved 2007-08 tuition, fees and room and board rates.

New undergraduate full-time students from Illinois will pay $224 per credit hour in tuition for the 2007-08 academic year and will continue to pay this rate through summer of 2011. Undergraduate Illinois full-time students who enrolled for the 2006-07 academic year will pay $205 per credit hour in tuition. A new academic facilities, technology and infrastructure assessment will add $9 per credit hour only for new and future students.

New out-of-state full-time undergraduate students will pay $468 per credit hour for the 2007-08 academic year. Out-of-state students who enrolled for the 2006-07 academic year will pay $428 per credit hour in tuition.

Illinois State University fees are included in the four-year guarantee, assuring students and parents that the fee rates will not change from year to year. The fees, excluding health insurance, for the 2007-08 academic year full-time new students will be $56.91 per credit hour.

Residence hall rates depend on which area of campus students live and in what type of room (multiple occupancy, single or super single), with rates increasing by 9.2 percent from the 2006-07 academic year. Students living in East or South Campuses or Watterson Towers will pay $3,546 for a multiple occupancy room, $4,646 for a single, $5,354 for a super single, $4,254 for multiple occupancy in a suite or $6,062 for a super single in a suite. Students living in Central Campus will pay $3,466 for a multiple occupancy room, $4,566 for a single, $5,274 for a super single and $4,174 for a multiple occupancy room in a suite. Students living in West Campus will pay $3,946 for a multiple occupancy room, $5,046 for a single and $4,654 for a multiple occupancy room in a suite.

Meal plan rates are silver at $3,288, gold at $3,654 and platinum at $4,026. The dining rates are an increase of 11.5 percent.
